NASMABio: New approaches for precise spectroscopic and morphological measurements in biological applications
24/10/2024

Photonics, recognized as a key technology in the Horizon Europe program, is revolutionizing strategic sectors such as health and agriculture. The NASMABio project joins this wave of innovation by developing solutions based on photonic technologies and Deep Learning to enhance non-invasive medical diagnostics and optimize precision agriculture. In the healthcare field, the project aims to apply spectral and 3D imaging to improve the detection of eye and skin diseases, such as skin cancer. In agriculture, new tools are being developed to assess crop conditions—including water stress or the presence of diseases—through spectral sensors and 3D morphological analysis of plants. With a multidisciplinary team, NASMABio brings together expertise in photonics, data analysis, clinical diagnostics, and smart agriculture, establishing an innovative approach that aims to achieve a high scientific, technological, and social impact.
