CRIBOOS: The new CD6 spin-off dedicated to the early detection and monitoring of visual function

11/06/2026
The CD6 adds a new spin-off to its ecosystem: CRIBOOS, a company focused on the development and commercialisation of medical technologies for the early detection and clinical monitoring of visual pathologies.

CRIBOOS has a twofold objective: to help patients reach the ophthalmology clinic sooner and, at the same time, to support ophthalmology professionals in the follow-up of progressive pathologies by providing clinical data between visits. The company enters the market with two complementary solutions designed to cover the entire care pathway:
  • Criboos Prevent, a multi-test and multi-pathology screening tool aimed at optical shops, pharmacies and medical centres. It enables quick, non-invasive and affordable tests, supporting early detection and appropriate referral to the healthcare system.
  • Criboos Track, a telemedicine solution for the home-based monitoring of patients, allowing ophthalmologists to prescribe periodic tests and remotely track clinical progression.

CRIBOOS joins the CD6's track record of spin-off creation with a clear social mission: to enable the early diagnosis of visual pathologies that, when detected in time, can prevent irreversible vision loss.

Congratulations to the research team that has made this new stage possible: Meritxell Vilaseca Ricart, Carles Otero, Jaume Pujol Ramo and Fernando Díaz Doutón. CRIBOOS is yet another example that public research, when it finds the right channels to reach the market, generates real value for society.
