Photonics plays a crucial role in diverse healthcare applications, specially in non-invasive medical imaging techniques like MRI, CT scans, and X-rays, aiding in disease diagnosis. Also, laser surgery helps to treat skin cancer, cataracts or removing specific cells. Photonics is already widely employed in healthcare, but it still holds immense potential to transform disease diagnosis and treatment further.

R+D projects developed at CD6 in the field of health have been focused on the development of new instruments for vision monitoring, optical quality of the eye, blood analysis and also skin cancer diagnosis. 

CD6 has fluent access to medium and large local hospitals to develop clinical trials for the new instruments developed at the center.
