Laboratories, workshops and scientific equipment

FACILITIES

Laboratories, prototyping rooms and workshops are available at CD6 to support research and innovation activities. Laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art scientific equipment, while prototyping rooms and workshops provide and ideal environment to build and validate new sensors or instruments.

01

LABORATORIES

310 m2

Design and development laboratories carry out application design tasks, measurements, and tests related to the development of instrumentation, that may include design and simulation of optical systems, surface metrology, optical systems characterization, spectral radiometry or colour measurements.

02

PROTOTYPE ROOMS

60 m2 / 110 m2

Prototype rooms are intended for the integration, adjustment, and testing of devices designed and built at the centre. Located next to the workshops, they have all the necessary services for their full functionality.

03

WORKSHOPS

110 m2

The machine shop is equipped with machine tools and measuring instruments. The electronics lab has development tools for various families of 8 and 16-bit microcontrollers, along with tools for designing programmable logic like CPLDs and FPGAs.

EQUIPMENT

The CD6 laboratories are equipped with scientific instrumentation that is continuously renewed. The available instrumentation allows for the measurement of surface topographies at micro and nanometric scales, the characterization of optical elements, and colorimetric or radiometric measurements, among others.

The equipment listed here is available for performing measurements or as a reference for calibrating other instruments.

Equipment available

Scanning spectroradiometer
Scanning spectroradiometer
PHOTORESEARCH
PR-655
This equipment allows to do radiometric and colorimetric measurements in the visible spectrum (380-780 nm) in a field of variable measure, from 0.5 mm to 5 m in diameter.
