CD6 is a technological innovation center located at the Terrassa Campus of the UPC, which operates in the field of
Optical Engineering and Photonics. CD6's activity aims to create value through innovation,
understanding R&D as part of the value chain. The main mission is to create new knowledge from
applied research programs and bring them to market through contracts with industry, R&D Research consortia,
intellectual property licensing or through the creation of new technology-based companies.

CD6 provides R&D and innovation support to companies worldwide from a wide range of industrial sectors
such as automotive, consumer electronics and multimedia, biomedical instrumentation
and research centers, among others. Check some KPIs for the last five years below:
Continuous close contact with industry during 25 years of CD6 history, have turned the entrepreneur spirit into
an essential part of CD6 culture. The Center has fostered and supported the creation of several spin-off companies
based on its own research results. Along with other start-up companies launched by former CD6 members or students,
all these companies result an amazing ecosystem that reinforces CD6 connection to the World
and its innovation capabilities. CD6 also offers a Technology Incubation Program
designed to support photonic entrepreneurs in their very early-stage steps towards the market.
CD6 participates in various Spanish technological platforms, holds a position on the board of stakeholders at Photonics21,
is a member of the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC), co-founder of the Southern
European Cluster in Photonics and Optics (Secpho), and is member of the Agricultural Machinery
Manufacturers Cluster (FEMAC)
Besides academic partnerships with organizations like CD6, the Center has experienced
a strong internationalization process, establishing R&D contracts with customers worldwide.
CD6 has also increased its participation in EU funded projects to tackle high-impact research projects. The following KPIs cover the last five years.
