The close contact between CD6 members and industries from a wide variety of sectors, over more than 20 years of the centre's history, has turned entrepreneurship into a building-block of CD6 culture. The Centre has fostered the incorporation of several spin-off companies based on its own research results, and also, has supported the creation of several start-ups promoted by former employees. This strategy has led to the creation of a boiling entrepreneurial environment around CD6, that not only reinforces the centre's technology transfer capabilities, but also helps entrepreneurs learn about other's experiences.
CD6 long track record of spin-off companies creation, has given us a deep sense of how difficult it is to start a technology-based business. With the goal of helping photonics entrepreneurs right from scratch, CD6 Photonics Technology Incubation Program is open to early-stage entrepreneurship proposals. The programme targets low TRL photonics projects, even if the company has not yet been created.
To support these enterprising ventures, CD6 technology incubation programme offers initial guidance and mentorship along with access to the centre's R+D capabilities and prototyping labs, required to create the minimum viable products that will help your first interactions with the market. Also, the Programme offers R&D public funding search support, IPR assessment and networking with suppliers, potential customers and other photonic entrepreneurs.
