CD6 is currently offering an optical engineer position, to work in the different R&D projects developed within the center's research lines. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated candidates with solid background in optics, interested in R&D and aiming to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
Tasks to be developed:
- Design of optical systems.
- Optomechanical design and assembly.
- Design of optical instruments.
- Construction and calibration of optical sensors and instrumentation configuration.
- Writing of scientific reports and articles.
Position description:
- Full-time contract.
- Workplace: Terrassa (Barcelona)
- Estimated start date: 15/02/2026 (flexible)
Requirements:
- MSc related to experimental optomechanics or optical engineering.
- Solid background in optics.
- Experience in optical design. Use of design and simulation software (Zemax OpticStudio).
- General scientific software development skills (Labview, Matlab, Phyton, C++, ...)
- Experience in complex optical setups, in particular in imaging optics and processing
- Fluent spoken and written English. Catalan and Spanish also recommended.
Also valued:
- PhD in Optical Engineering, Photonics or related disciplines.
- Experience in optical engineering laboratory work.
- Experience in the integration of optomechanical systems.
- French and German will also be valued.
