In the framework of the “Dona i Robòtica” session organised by the City Council of Terrassa within the 4th Women, Science and Technology Day (WSCITECH26), held on 13 March at Escola Vedruna Vall, Meritxell Vilaseca, researcher and director of CD6‑UPC, gave a talk on “Photonics and artificial intelligence for medical, industrial and agricultural applications”, illustrating how these technologies can help tackle real‑world challenges across different sectors.

Her participation highlights the role of women in science and technology, as well as CD6’s ability to translate research in photonics and artificial intelligence into applied solutions, in line with the event’s aim of making women’s contributions in STEM more visible and inspiring scientific and technological vocations among girls and young women.
