Meritxell Vilaseca has been appointed director of the Centre for Sensors, Instrumentation and Systems Development (CD6), replacing Santiago Royo, who has led the center in the las 16 years.

Professor Vilaseca is a full professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), holds a PhD in Optical Engineering (UPC, 2005), and until now served as scientific director of CD6. Specializing in color and multispectral imaging, she has led over 17 research projects, supervised 10 PhD theses, published 69 scientific articles, and presented over 200 communications at national and internation conferences.
