Job offer: Technician for the mechanical prototyping workshop

The CD6 offers a position in the center's mechanical workshop with the following characteristics:

Job summary:
Mechanical technician who will collaborate in the design, construction, integration and validation of prototypes of sensors and instruments developed at CD6, as part of its research programs. Their functions will be to provide advice in the conceptualization phases of instrument prototypes, detailed mechanical design, manufacture of mechanical components, integration of optical and electronic components, realization of the prototypes final adjustments, management of external suppliers and technical documentation.

Tasks:
  • Mechanical advice in the initial conceptualization phases of sensors and instruments incorporating optical and electronic components
  • 3D CAD design of mechanical components
  • Machining of precision opto-mechanical components using a lathe or milling machine
  • Integration and verification of prototypes, making adjustments if necessary.
  • Supplier management
  • Outsourcing and validation of manufacturing tasks to third parties
  • Technical project documentation
  • Maintenance of mechanical workshop equipment and machinery
  • Keep records updated in the center's management system

Profile:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering, higher degree courses in mechanics or equivalent
  • 3D CAD design
  • Experience in manufacturing mechanical components using a lathe and milling machine will be valued
  • Experience in machinery maintenance will be valued

Conditions:
  • Contract duration: 24 months. May be extended.
  • Start of the contract: 01/09/2023
  • Place of work: CD6, Terrassa
  • Dedication: Full time
  • Schedule: Part-time
  • Salary: 29.313,58€ gross per year

Requirements to be met by the candidates:
  • Age: Under 30 years old
  • No previous contractual relationship with UPC from February 28th, 2023
  • Be registered in the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) the day before the start of the contract
