Printing electronics for signal applicationsPrincipal investigator
Jaume Pujol Ramo [+info]Summary
The PRINTLED project (PRINTING ELECTRONICS FOR SIGNAL APPLICATIONS) aims to advance the state-of-the-art on the optical and electronic components applicable to light signals in road infrastructure. The project aims to achieve greater energy efficiency and lower cost of both production and operation. PRINTLED has focused on the variable message panels (VMP) for their higher degree of complexity in terms of structure and size, its manufacturing process and the required standards.
The PRINTLED project arose from the need identified by DSTA, CETEMSA and CD6 to develop new signaling elements that enable new approaches to economic sustainability of road infrastructure of the future, both in terms of production costs and maintenance and energy efficiency. PRINTLET falls within the field of ITS (Intelligent Transport System).
