HYPAG - Hyperspectral imaging technology for precision agriculture applications

CD6 has been working on a number of projects in the field of precision agriculture based on hyperspectral imaging (real-time soil evaluation, analysis of grain and seed quality and improvement of the efficiency of integrated pest control) . For example, R&D activities have successfully completed concept testing and the development of prototypes for use in laboratory environments (TRL5). The use of hyperspectral imaging in agriculture is really widespread and can be extended to forest control, to the analysis of the status of certain crops, etc. In this sense, the opportunities for hyperspectral imaging technology in this area are numerous and very interesting from the point of view of technological development and subsequent commercial exploitation.

The HYPAG project aims to enhance this line of work based on four action lines:

1. Prospective: Identification and study of business opportunities in agriculture based on the use of photonic technologies.

2. Technology transfer projects: Promotion of contacts with companies in the sector for the conclusion of technological development agreements and exploitation of technology.

3. R&D Projects: The objective is to meet powerful technological challenges through the establishment of consortia with other research groups and with business participation.

4. IPR protection.

The project has been funded by the European Union ERDF within the framework of the "ERDF Operational Program of Catalonia 2014-2020"
