PICEO - Micro-injection machine for Photonic Integrated Circuits encapsulation with optical performance using thermoplastic materials

Under the funding of the program Convocatòria d’Industria del Coneixement for the year 2016, Modalitat B, Producte, of the Agencia de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca, the PICEO project closes the first 12 months as a key period of its evolution since it has generated information and results of high added value in relation to the manufacturing process and the development of the device for the optical functionality characterization. On the one hand, the development of the manufacture of the component has included the definition of the iterative workflow in which is the optimization of the mould, injection parameters, manufacturing tests, etc. On the other hand, the design and manufacture of the first prototype of characterization of the optical functionality of the devices manufactured in this project has been consolidated.

This project has been cofunded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union within the framework of the Operative Programme of Catalonia 2014-2020.
