FLOIM- Flexible optical injection moulding for manufacturing of complex opto-electronic devices

Under the program H2020 of Research and Innovation Financing of the European Union FLOIM concerns a new, automatized manufacturing technology for the manufacturing of optoelectronic components and the assembly of the corresponding optical system. It is based on the use of thermoplastic materials and the embedding of all the components into a compact and robust unique device. The project is developed by the consortium formed by Promolding BV, Hybtronics Microsystems SA, Mondagron Assembly SA, FAGOR Automation, ADAMA Innovation Limited, Flexenable Limited, Research Center for Non Destructive Testing GmbH, Fraunhofer Gesellschaft Fur Foerderung Der Angewandten Forschung E.V., Centro Tecnológico CEIT-IK4, SnellOptics, UPC and lead by AIMEN. At the beginning of September the consortium met in Brussels to carry out the kick-off meeting, which was attended by the officer. In this first contact, the activities to be carried out by each participant during the first 6 months of the project were defined.
