Tear film stability assessment by corneal reflex image degradation

A new method for tear film break up detection has been proposed by a team of CD6 researchers. The method is based on the degradation of corneal reflex images caused by dry spots. This technique could be used for dry eye diagnose in novel instrumentation.

The work hase been presented at the Visual and Physiological Optics meeting (VPO) 2018:

Aldaba, M., Mira-Agudelo, A., Barrera, J.F., García-Guerra, C.E., Pujol, J. (2018): "Tear film stability assessment by corneal reflex image degradation". 9th European Meeting on Visual and Physiological Optics (VPO Athens 2018)

The research team has received funding from the People Programme (Marie Curie Actions) of the 7th Framework Program of the European Union (FP7 / 2007-2013) as part of the TECNIO Spring initiative (Ref. 600388 of the REA) and has also received the support from ACCIÓ, the Agency for Enterprise Competitiveness of the Goverment of Catalpnia.
