Davalor Research Center

Over 50% of the population has visual dysfunction and about 10% suffer from shortcomings that limit theri daily activity. Children with poor school performance and / or sports, or diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) could actually have vision problems without themselves or their parents being aware. The company Davalor Salud has developed an innovative system of visual diagnosis. The new eyecare service launched on October 16th at the for Davalor Research Center, Optics and Vision Development Area, is located in the Gaia building at the UPC Terrassa Campus.

The Davalor Research Center comprises an extensive team of professionals in the field of optometry. Similarly, a Clinical Council has been established with experts in the field of visual function, consisting of numerous scientific and optometrists, with the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), through Centre for Sensors, Instruments and Systems Development (CD6), which is a member of the Center for Innovation and Technology (CIT UPC) and the TECNIO Network.

The diagnostic technology developed by Davalor Salud consists of a series of terminals that can measure 75 parameters of visual function through gaming by means of an interactive 3D video game. Many of them can not be objectively reviewed using traditional measurement methods. Thanks to these user selectable games, visual health diagnostics will be greatly improved. On the other hand, therapy or training willbe available to correct some of the diagnsed deseases. Also, through some specific exercises, improvement of visual dysfunctions will be offered, ending with the traditional workouts that have been made so far and have not been accessible to the majority of the population.
