Photonics diagnosis and prognosis of skin cancer
The Centre Centre for Sensors, Instruments and Systems Development (CD6 UPC) is coordinating a European project for the implementation of various innovative photonic techniques for obtaining more accurate diagnoses and prognoses in detecting different types of injuries skin cancer. Two hospitals (in Barcelona and Modena) multiphoton implement a platform that will allow dermatologists and plastic surgeons diagnose more early, accurate and reliable skin cancers, as well as minimally invasive surgical operations guided more accurately than with existing systems (visual examination and dermoscopy). The platform will reduce time and risk of second interventions, improving process efficiency detection and treatment of skin cancer.Extranet
